Home

Welcome.

Navigating this site should be easy (if you think it’s not, please let me know and suggest changes). Each header tells you what you will find in there:

Gallery is where you’ll find photos of completed builds without any explanations.

Behind the Scenes is the detailed breakdown of a build, including why, how, what worked, what didn’t work, how I fixed what didn’t work, and certain pithy observations (sometimes obscene).

Side Projects involve tasks that are model-related such as molding, pouring resin, and some of my experiments.

Opinions, Reviews, and Tips is where I give my opinions, review kits and tools, and make suggestions. (Bitching is not uncommon here.)

What the Hell Does That Mean is where you’ll find the glossary and detailed explanations of certain things. (And if you have any suggestions or questions for that section, please speak up!)

There is a “Search” box as well as a link to the five most current posts to make things easier for you.

This site will change as content changes and I figure out just how to work it and what I want the tone of it to be.  This thing will change. Feel free to make comments. (Feel free to stay well-mannered, too.) If you like something, let me know. If you don’t like something, let me know that too…though there are no guarantees that any of what you don’t like will change, any more than there are guarantees that what you do like won’t change. I’m capricious. (I’m also crazy.)

What’s important to keep firmly in mind is that this is all just one maniac’s opinion. I’m no expert; if I was I would charge you money. What’s written here will be just my opinion and hopefully YMMV.

I’ve had a couple of people contact me looking to use my references for their own work (and neither said “thank you” when I complied). NO MORE.  Please. Don’t do that. Nothing I’ve found and absolutely zero information I have is classified. I’ve found all of it on the Internet. If I can find it, you can also. Using me as a reference source means you’re only going to be as accurate as I am…and I am FAR from perfect. Do your own work.

So, off the edge I step. I hope you enjoy what you find here. Time is a terrible thing to waste. You can never get it back.

    1. Thanks! I figured that if I only had categories for things actually built or in progress that would simplify finding things *actually* built or in progress!

  4. I’m only a pro at appreciating other people’s work and talents.. So no suggestions would come from me, questions.. many questions, maybe, but I know little that would actually be helpful here (haha). Thank you for sharing this and adding me to your list for updates. I will continue to enjoy your future work! Peace be with you my friend!

    1. Suggestions don’t require expertise, just interest. Any questions you have will be easy to answer if you ask them… Thanks for coming and checking stuff out!

    Saru mo ki kara ochiru.

I just thought I’d leave this here. Why? I don’t know why I do anything, so I’m the wrong person to ask.

    1. You’re quite welcome. I hope someday you’re *much* better than I! Set your sights high, don’t use anyone as your yardstick except yourself. If you’re better today than you were yesterday, that’s the route to take.

    1. Thanks! Yeah…it’s getting more and more difficult to find Verlinden’s products. I keep waiting (and more like hoping, as time passes) for someone else to step up and make some of the Verlinden stuff that we took SO much for granted. I do wish you luck!

  11. Hi,

I stumbled on your website when I was looking for reference material to build my 1/48 blackbird. Great build log, and tons of useful information !!
I am going to read through this with a cup of coffee. Thanks !
